Wall Mount

TV is up probably in its final position. Right now the wires are just everywhere, probably won't cut into the wall until awhile. I need to really get some couches in here and finish the back wall. Need a damn truck for some dry wall ;)
Tv is directly in the center of the wall from the door frame to the other corner. 34.5inches on both side

2.3 Short update

Drilled the holes for the fans, also did a rough move of the stuff into the rack. Now figuring out what wires I'll need.
The amp sticks out a bit, I could sit it on its side but that would be too ghetto and not good for it. I'll see what i can do...looking at a new amp any way but that would have to hold hdmi so even more room will be needed at the back :(
Front view: tv will soon be on the wall with the wires running down the wall not sure about the speakers, maybe some cheap mounts. Next phase for this wall will be the in wall wiring.
Amp is on its side, my darn Set A front left speaker output is out (btw i love troubleshooting yee, got a story for the fellas. annywhooo..) I'll need a new amp just to run all the speakers and hdmi and the set of B speakers that will be in the bedroom. (4 more)
you can see the wire routing channel. also this is all rough work, you are seeing the inside of the actual wall. MORE TO COME.

Faiz 2.0

YEAH.
Been awhile yeah? I had to go back to the drawling board. I switched the rooms around so now my bedroom is where the studio used to be. This gives me a lot more room to work with actually :) I've started construction on the wall (the main sound barrier) Some pics are below (sorry about the quality, all the pics are with my samsung epic)

I've also thought of a shit load of mods...can't wait to put them into action :) Again this is going to be a lonnnng process...there may never actually be a finished product...oh and were calling it a Home Theater now.

DENSE.

This is the view from my bedroom facing the home theater. The top will be covered with drywall, left and right (B Set) of speakers. That opening above the dresser will have a flush in-wall LCD (computer, tv, xbox, ect) To the left of that will be the two doors, opening one or the other will direct the heat flow, keep em both closed for a sauna aka death lol

This is going to be the main sound absorber. All the cracks will be filled in with acoustic sealant, insulation, a sheet of sound board then drywall. Top area will have in wall surround left and right speakers, a door on the right, and the 1080p projector up top later on in life in wall of course. There will be a custom ventilation system to extract the hot air/bring fresh air in. If you see that box at the top left of the wall that is actually our bathroom/kitchen vent hose, I'm thinking about tapping into that :) The room is now 13ftx13ft and is 92in high on the left (vent side) and 90in high on the right lol :) That opening below that box will probably have a side table or maybe a little desk. There will be a couch right in front of this wall as well.
Enjoy!

Sorry but didn't plan on taking photos so they are not to good.

Mission Statement

Hello all,

The purpose of this blog would be to document the creation of a home DIY studio me and some friends are working on. Things will start out slow but you should hopefully see progression along the way. The delay will mainly be because of lack of funds :)

The location is my room of course. My room is actually a addition on the apartment me and my family rent. The apartment is listed as a 2 bedroom with an extra room (family room) However there is 3 of us so I was able to obtain this room as-my room. The room measures 27ftx13ftx91in. It is off the kitchen, so farthest from the other rooms, the rest of the apartment consists of hardwood floors with flat ceilings.

My main concern is sound isolation/absorption. The room is huge so I plan to split it in half with a wardrobe and custom wall with door. The room used to be a patio and the walls aren't the best as far as insulation (gets cold in here) The windows are old single pane and above my head is someones deck (wood on the floor, or on my head)

The plan in short is to make the sound stay in the room, not to worried about outside sounds. The room is going to be completely sealed, there is going to be two windows total in the room with plugs in them, as well as a plug on the door. The plugs are going to consist of sheet rock/soundboard/sheet rock and have handles on them for taking them in/out.

Ventilation will be covered by just removing a plug when it gets too hot/someone farts.

First few Phase's that you will are just going to be small as I am working on paying off a few bills :( They will be focused more to making the room nicer. I also still need to buy couches!

Enjoy!
